Every modality Ross works with is chosen for what your body needs that day — not applied by default, and never for its own sake.

Finer needles, lighter touch, far greater precision than most people expect. Trained under the lineage of Master Ikeda Masakazu, Ross works with a style that prioritises subtlety over force.
What it feels like: Most clients describe barely noticing the needle go in. The sensation is more about the after — a settling, a release — than the insertion itself.
When Ross uses it: As the foundation of almost every session, calibrated to what your body is telling him that day.

Gentle, controlled heat from burning moxa herb, used to warm meridians, stimulate circulation and deepen the effect of a treatment.
What it feels like: A gradual, comfortable warmth — never sharp, never uncomfortable.
Note: Moxibustion is included as part of your acupuncture session when appropriate — it isn't a standalone treatment or an extra charge.

A heated roller worked along the body, combining warmth with rolling pressure. It's the modality clients mention first when describing their session.
What it feels like: Consistently described as heaven — closer to a hot stone massage than anything clinical.
When Ross uses it: Woven into sessions where muscular tension needs more than needles alone can address.

Soft tissue work isn't bolted on at the end of a session at ENKI — it's woven throughout, alongside whatever else the body needs.
What it feels like: Continuous, attentive hands-on work rather than a separate, timed block.
When Ross uses it: Integrated as standard — it's part of how every session is built, not an add-on you have to request.

Precision-calibrated tuning forks applied directly to acupuncture points. The forks produce sound frequencies that resonate through the body — an ancient concept, refined with modern instrumentation.
What it feels like: A subtle vibration and tone that settles the nervous system in a way that's hard to describe until you've felt it.
When Ross uses it: Particularly where stress, tension or nervous system regulation are part of what's going on.

Deep-penetrating infrared heat to ease muscle tension and support the body's natural recovery process.
What it feels like: A steady, deep warmth that reaches further than surface heat.
Note: Infrared is available as a session enhancement — let Ross know if you'd like it included.

A mild electrical current passed through select needles once they're placed, used to intensify stimulation where it's needed.
What it feels like: A faint pulsing or tapping sensation at the needle site — adjustable, and always within your comfort.
When Ross uses it: For stubborn pain or muscular issues that benefit from more sustained stimulation than manual needling alone provides.

Suction cups placed on the skin draw blood flow to the surface, releasing deep muscular tension and stagnation that needling alone doesn't always reach.
What it feels like: A firm pulling sensation as the cups draw — most clients find it more relieving than uncomfortable, especially once tight muscles start to release.
When Ross uses it: Where deep-seated tension, stagnation or chronic muscular tightness call for something more targeted.
