Menstrual symptoms get normalised more than almost anything else — period pain, irregular cycles, and PMS are often treated as just something to put up with, rather than something that can actually be worked on.

Acupuncture and moxibustion are genuinely useful for menstrual irregularities, period pain and PMS-type symptoms, and many women notice real improvement in cycle regularity and symptom severity over a course of treatment. For conditions like PCOS and endometriosis, treatment is aimed at supporting your body and easing symptoms alongside your medical care — not as a replacement for the diagnosis and management that needs to come from your doctor or specialist.

On fertility specifically: I won't claim acupuncture improves your chances of conceiving — that's not a promise I can make, and you should be wary of any practitioner who does. What I can offer is support for your general wellbeing and stress levels during what's often a difficult and emotionally loaded process, which some women find genuinely helpful alongside their medical treatment.

Why questioning matters more here

Pulse, cycle history, and a proper conversation about what's actually happening tell me far more than "irregular periods" as a label. Two women with the same surface symptom can need quite different treatment depending on the underlying pattern.

Where moxa fits in

Moxibustion is commonly used for period pain and cycles that run light or irregular — the warmth seems to help with circulation and ease cramping for a lot of women.

What to expect

This is an area where I'll always be straightforward with you about what acupuncture can and can't realistically do. If you're dealing with a diagnosed reproductive health condition, treatment here works best as part of a broader plan with your doctor, not instead of one.
